"I was raised in a very dysfunctional home, abused physically and sexually. Had lots of anger and mental health issues because of that. In and out of juvie and prison. My GMA and mom were Jehovah witnesses. I had an understanding of the Bible but I'd say I didn't have a personal relationship with God until 2016. I was incarcerated and my GMA would always send me daily scripture in the mail. This scripture was in there
“But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

It rocked me and I realized I wanted a close relationship with God. I started pursuing him. It made me realize that no matter where I was in life with various situations that there was freedom with God.
